ETHNOGRAPHIC FILM UNIT The Ethnographic Film unit is a video production unit within the <http://www.anth.ubc.ca/>Department of Anthropology at the <http://www.ubc.ca/>University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The Film Unit draws upon the combined strengths of anthropologists, filmmakers, students, and community members. We use the language of documentary video to explore issues of environmentally and socially responsible resource use that prioritizes collaborative community-based practise. The videos are an active research tool; a catalyst for conversation and for deeper enquiry. They are also an end product, a broadcast-quality video for use in highschool and university classrooms, conferences, workshops, and film festivals. On our web page you will find information on our current core and associate members, our products and services, and opportunities for graduate students. The Film Unit encourages those involved in similar endeavours across the campus and within our associated communities to join as associate members. For further information please contact Charles Menzies [charles.menzies@ubc.ca]. We encourage those who are interested in becoming associate members to contact us.
